Boy, have I got a delicious recipe for you today!
A few years ago I went to Matt’s sisters house for some family get-together or another, and had the most delicious side dish – broccoli slaw.
Ever since then, I have wanted to recreate it, or get the recipe from her. but I just kept forgetting, or didn’t have an occasion to make it for. Until last weekend.
Sunday July 3 we went to a BBQ hosted by one of matts coworkers and were asked to bring side dishes to share. Aha! The perfect opportunity to make broccoli slaw. Matt promptly called up his mom and copied down the recipe for me.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 – 2 packages broccoli slaw (depending on the size of each bag)
2 packages chicken ramen
3 chopped green onions
3/4 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/3 cup sugar
3 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 cup olive or canola oil
What to do:
Mix the broccoli slaw, ramen noodles (you’ll need the seasoning packet later), onions, almonds, and sunflower seeds together in a big bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, vinegar, oil, and seasoning packet from the ramen. Pour the dressing over the slaw mix and toss together well.
Let everything refrigerate for an hour or two before eating.
