First Post!

Hi! If you’re reading this, you probably searched for blogs about knitting, or running, or who knows what else might link here. But I hope you stay and enjoy my thoughts. Here’s a little about me: I’m 23 years old, I teach band/instrumental music to 5th and 6th graders, I live with my parents, I have been with my wonderful boyfriend (and hopefully soon to be my fiance) for 7 amazing years, I love to run, I love to knit, I love to read, I have a hilarious cat named Sterling, I have lost 40 lbs (so far) on Weight Watchers, and I love to shop. That’s probably a good bit of basic information. I’m pretty new to this whole blogging thing, so bear with me trying to figure out how to post pics and stuff. So my journey with running began almost a year ago. I began following Weight Watchers on November 5th, 2008. It has changed my life completely. I have a totally new relationship with food, exercise, and myself. I had been working out on a non-regular basis for a few years, but I felt that I needed to step it up. I have always admired those crazy people who would run on a treadmill or the sidewalk for what seemed like forever. So in January I decided to sign up for a 5K race and start running. I’m the sort of person who needs a definite goal to work towards. So I found a race in Champaign, IL (my brother was in school there at the time) in March, and I signed us both up. I amazed myself by finishing in 32:30 and felt so amazing afterwards. I have since done 3 more 5K races and most recently completed a 4 mile Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. So that’s my running story, told while I’m watching the four finalists of this seasons Biggest Loser run a marathon. How poetic (lol). And that means it’s also time to get ready for bed so I can get up and function at work tomorrow.
